Mrs. Gerhart

Hello! My name is Karen Gerhart. I love teaching fifth grade! I have my bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from East Stroudsburg University. After working in the hotel and country club business as an event planner and in sales, I decided to go back to school to fulfill my childhood dream of teaching. I completed my teaching certificate from Prescott University and completed my studies with a masters degree in Reading and Literacy from MaryGrove College. I have taught Title One, first and fifth grades.
 
I honestly have SOOOO many favorite books, I cannot choose just one! I could talk about books all day - stop in and see me, I will give you a list of recommendations!
 
My favorite subject when I was in elementary school was READING!! I love to read because it is an escape. Reading helps you grow and experience different realities and perspectives. When I was little I wanted to start at one end of our town library and read every single book!
